Carol Lee Hornbuckle, age 66, formerly of Howard, Kansas, passed away at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas on Friday, July 8, 2016.  She was born November 24, 1949 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Jesse and Bettie (Bruner) Hornbuckle.

Carol graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Kansas and attended college at St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas.  She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree.  She worked as a social worker until her retirement.

Carol is survived by her brother, Steve Hornbuckle and wife, Barbara of Hutchinson, Kansas; her foster sister, Gayle Curie and husband, Bob of Redding, California; her nephew, Jason Hornbuckle of Astoria, New York; her niece, Tonya Navarro and husband, Darick of Hutchinson, Kansas; her great-nephew, Gabe Navarro; and her great-niece, Mia Navarro.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Bettie.

A graveside Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moline City Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  The family suggests memorials to the Moline City Cemetery and may be left with the funeral home.  Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349 is in charge of arrangements.
