Lou Jean Selter, age 76, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away May 26, 2016 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas.  She was born on February 14, 1940 in Moline, Kansas to Eugene Davidson and Wilma (Welch) Davidson.

Lou Jean grew up in the Moline area where she attended Moline High School and later received her GED.  She married Gene Cummings, and to this union one son, Bill, was born.  They later divorced.  On September 17, 1960, she married Fred Selter in Sedan, Kansas.  Two children, Dee Ann and Mike were born to this union.  They made their home in the Grafton area for many years as Lou Jean worked for Dr. Walker and later Dr. Campbell for many years.  She also worked several others jobs and was the Activity Director at Pleasant Valley Manor before her retirement.

Lou Jean enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and knitting.  The love for her grandchildren was the most important.

Lou Jean is survived by one daughter, Dee Ann Wade and husband, John of Peru, Kansas; two sons, Bill Cummings of Sedan, Kansas and Mike Selter of Andover, Kansas; one sister, Judy Brewer and husband, Ron of Sedan, Kansas; three granddaughters, Crystal Wade and Casey Wade, both of Sedan, Kansas, and Chelsie Bane and husband, Garrett of rural Sedan, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Triston Wade, John C. Wade, and Georgia Wade; and many other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, on May 6, 2004; and one brother.

Graveside services were held on May 31, 2016 at the Union Chapel Cemetery north of Sedan, Kansas with Pastor John Warring of the First Christian Church officiating.  The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Valley Manor or the Grafton Community and may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361 which is in charge of arrangements.
