       I should have known that you would purport to being an expert on gunshot wounds. 

      A bit far fetched to say you know what a bullet does by carting someone to the hospital. I think I'll take the word of a trauma surgeon over that of someone who only sees the entrance and exit wound( if there is one). It's easy to follow the damage of a large caliber bullet. Not so when it is smaller and bounces off of bone and changes direction, sometimes many times, and often never exits.

     Mafia hit men used 22's. One shot behind the ear and it scrambled your brains.

Bull, yes indeed, it is pretty amazing for one who was never an EMT or paramedic or so she told us.I know—I know--- "you started riding  in the ambulance".after you had to quit teaching after two years and found you had a chalk dust allergy.
Why hell, I flew several times in a CH-46 helicopter but I never did think that made me a pilot !!!

Now what?  Of course I was an EMT!!!! I only gave up my EMT, National Registry and my State EMT teaching license in 2006. (Once an EMT always an EMT.)
I gave up everyday classroom teaching back when everything was chalk boards because of the allergy. Even now, if I'm in a classroom that still has chalk, (very rare) after the 4th day the allergy and wheezing and coughing comes back. Keep in mind all the fire school field instructors had full time day jobs back them. All DSFS classes, fire fighting and ambulance courses were taught in the evening and weekends.
I was the first female DSFS EMT instructor and it was a number of years before any others came along. Now they are very common. I also taught the Police Academy classes, DENREC, National Guard and others...just as I said.
The State Fire School in Dover left chalk and went to marker boards years ago, and then computers and Power Point programs. Most schools now have smart boards among other things.
Yes, I was an "expert" on treating and teaching others about prehospital basic care for gunshot wounds. 1970's until 2000's. I volunteered on Monday in an ER for years just to pick up more knowledge.
Remember, we didn't have the "Paramedics" then as we know them now, as Viet Nam was just closing down. I didn't quit teaching public school after just two years. I stuck it out until my Doctor told me to try to find something else to do with my degree and I did.
I rode as an "Ambulance Attendant" from 1969 until 1974 when I took my EMT training and passed my National Registry Exams...the very first time.  I was a paid person on a private ambulance for a time and of course a volunteer for Aetna. I also became a CPR and later an AED instructor. We had to have 5 years field experience to do any of that.
I started on the fire Company ambulance part time, as a volunteer in 1969 with an Advanced Red Cross Card. I had to have that for Elementary School here and that's ll there was then.The other courses hadn't been developed yet.Al and I rode together on Friday nights and Tuesday nights for many years.Sometimes on weekends too as calls came in.
Yes, I was involved in writing the first  Emergency Care Book. We called it "The Yellow Book" because of it's Yellow Cover. I did some editing and an awful lot of proof reading. "Grant and Murray" were the official authors. It's a much bigger book now and had gone through many editions since  our first edition.
Why is it so important for you to call me such a liar? Everything I said was and is true. I have several awards, certificates and a Jefferson Award too. Big deal.
So is Teresa a fraud too? Are those other people's trophies she holds up in the those photos? I totally believe she is a good at what she does as she seems. Why shouldn't I be also? I've never posted photos of my awards because I would immediately be accused of bragging.
I'll never again be an EMT or ride engines or the ambulance, and yes, I miss it. I do still go to schools and do fire safety classes from time to time representing Aetna. Also summer camps for the same and the occasional hand held fire extinguisher class for adults.
