Lore Jean (Spencer) Kempton of Udall, Kansas passed away March 27, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  She was born in Winfield, Kansas on October 25, 1952, the daughter of Virgil Eugene and Edith Lorraine (Wilson) Spencer.

Lore was a lifelong resident of Cowley County, Kansas.  She started school in Atlanta, Kansas and then graduated from Udall High School in 1970.  Her passion was being a nurse.  Nursing was her life.  She married Dan Kempton, and to this union Amanda was born.  They later divorced.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda and husband, Mike Cate of Corning, Arkansas; her mother, Edith (Wilson) Spencer of El Dorado, Kansas; three sisters, Shirley "Sam" and husband, Marion Reece of Moline, Kansas, Brenda and husband, Glen Cousins of Galva, Kansas, and Jan and husband, Dennis Dobbs of Lexington, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Emily and husband, Ty Prater, Dylan Cate, and Rachel Cate, all of Corning, Arkansas; one great-grandchild, Charlee Prater; a special nephew, Adam Reece and wife, Lydia; and a special niece, Erica and husband, Mike Cordell.  She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Spencer.

Services will be held at Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Kansas in Cowley County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016.  Arrangements were by Emert Funeral Home in Corning, Arkansas.  Online condolences may be made at www.ermertfuneralhome.com.
