You are right about that PRO. I have Owned Property In Elk, and I am Working on Buying some more. And when I do Buy some I will gladly Pay my Taxes There. As a Former Taxpayer, and one that will be paying Taxes again, I think it was Great that they shared the  Money from The Wind Farms with the Towns in Elk County. After all everyone that owns Property also Pays Taxes there. PRO KEEP ON KEEPING ON, YOU ARE DOING GREAT.

My point was that the Wind Farm Money did not come from the taxpayers.  I am sorry that you couldn't understand that.

The Wind Farm is a taxpayer or they would not be paying the county a dime. As I said PILOT only means they don't have to the full amount of the assessed tax mil the rest of us have to pay. They pay in Lieu of full tax.

One other thing that you seem to not understand.  Having ties to an area does not mean that you live there, pay taxes there or vote there.  Ties to an area such as Mr. Gray has to Elk County come from memories that have been made over time.  Such as I still have ties to the little town in Sedgwick County where I grew up.  Since most of the people that I used to know there are dead or gone, I have only memories, but I still have an interest in what is happening there.  Sometimes there is a name that I recognize and can identify the family.  Those are ties that last and are just as important as actually living in the area.  Some ties are simply the place where your parents are buried or your grandparent's farm where you spent a lot of time.  There are endless places that you can have ties to as long as your memories last.

Having ties does not mean you are an insider either. The meaning of the term outsider, I guess depends on the person using it. Doesn't it!

So because they are not a voter and do not live here I consider them outsiders.
And that is my opinion that I am entitled to. Thank you.
And the Constitution guarantees my right to say so.

Since you mentioned that Howard should probably use the Socialist Welfare Money to fix their swimming pool it brought to mind some thoughts.

I don't know the status of the fund drive for the rehab of the Howard pool, but that would be one good place to make a wise investment for all the wee little Elk Countians coming up behind all of us.

Elk Kon nected went to the Howard City council several months ago asking that they be permitted to take over raising the donations to fix that swimming pool. It doesn't appear that they were successful, does it? So how about they go to their Kon nected Kounty Kommissioners to get the money for Howard? Sounds reasonable doesn't it? A little manipulation doesn't hurt anything does it?

So what happens next, but that the two Kon nected Kounty Kommissioners do it for them with this Socialist Welfare Money right? Right!

Next the Socialist Welfare Money is called Aid and a Resolution is drawn up and only lists Howard ! Why would such a blatant error be made?

The distribution is to be made on the basis of the population of each city as of the 2010 census, right?

That would have Howard receiving approximately $39,734; Moline, $21,458; Longton, $20,127; Grenola, $12,493, and Elk Falls, $6,189.

And as far as dividing up the money between the communities by the number of population instead of by the number of taxpayers in each community is a questionable method. Why would I think that?
Because there are probably more kids in Howard and probably more renters in Howard and none of them pay property tax. That in its self creates an unfair amount of the tax dollars going to Howard.

Ross, most of 'em don't appear to understand a thing that you've said.

Some people even call themselves "conservative" or "ultra conservative" about an issue or two.  Yet, they're liberal on 999 other matters.  Support of the military does not make one a conservative, instead with many it's quite the opposite.

It's no wonder that Republicans have no answer for Obama because they think like him.
Distribution is now a way of life in the united States.  It's the worship of government and the goodness thereof.  Republicans and reconstructed Democrats are Lincolnites - socialists.

Obama and some top Elk County Republicans have very much on common, they support Distribution of government money no matter where they get it or where it comes from.  You're right, that's socialism and the liberals don't care what you say.
