Eula Marie Malone, 73, of the Belknap community, died Friday, February 27, 2007 at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Gary Boles officiating.  Burial will be in Belknap Cemetery south of Moline, Kansas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. today.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Jane Phillips Cancer Center or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and they may be left with the funeral home.

Mrs. Malone was born Aug. 20, 1933 in the Belknap community to Guy F. and Ola (Petty) Runyan.  She graduated from Moline High School in 1951.

On February 13, 1953, she married Marvin Malone at Moline, Kansas, and he died in 1985.

Mrs. Malone was employed for several years at the sale barn cafe and the Elk Manor Nursing Home in Moline.

She was a former member of the Belknap Extension Home Unit and a former leader of the Belknap 4-H Club.

Survivors include a son, Larry Malone, Moline, Kansas; two daughters, Trish Lawless, Moline, Kansas and Shirley Hedges, Grenola, Kansas; a sister, Jean Kennedy, Elk City, Kansas; and eight grandchildren.

Eula Marie Malone died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at her home in the Belknap community, south of Moline, Kansas.  She was 73 years of age and a lifetime resident of the Belknap area.

Eula was born on August 20, 1933 in the Belknap community to Guy F. and Ola Louisa (Petty) Runyan.  She attended rural schools and graduated from the Moline High School in 1951.

On Febrary 13, 1953, she married Marvin Loren Malone at Moline, Kansas, and to this union were born two daughters, Latricia and Shirley, and a son, Larry.  Eula was a loving wife and mother and devoted her life to caring for her family. She was employed for several years as a cook at sale barn cafes in Moline and also the Elk Manor Nursing Home.  She was preceded in death by her husband on March 30, 1985.

Eula was a former member of the Belknap Extension Home Unit and was a former leader of the Belknap 4-H.

She is survived by her son, Larry of Moline, Kansas; her daughters, Trish Lawless of Moline, Kansas and Shirley Hedges of Grenola, Kansas; her sister, Jean Kennedy of Elk City, Kansas; and eight grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Jack Runyan.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Gary Boles officiating.  Wanda Mills was the pianist.  Recordings were played of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill, "I Believe" by Brooks and Dunn and "One Day At A Time" by Christy Lane.  The casket bearers were Jim Bell, H. R. Hawkins, John Jacot, Kenny McNown, Brian Stewart and J. L. Tunison.  The honorary casket bearers were John Everett, Bert Hawkins, Dale Hobart, Damon Snyder, Billy Stewart and Gene Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Jane Phillips Cancer Center and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home.  The funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
