Billy J. "Bill" Sherrod, age 80, of Moline, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kansas.  He was born August 3, 1935 in Tahoka, Texas to Guy Sherrod and Violet (Hall) Sherrod.

Bill grew up and attended school in Tahoka, Texas.  He married Wanda Mae Beasley on May 24, 2008 in Lubbock, Texas.  They lived there a short while before moving to Moline seven years ago.

Bill worked many years at the Becknell Wholesale Company in Lubbock, Texas as an office manager of the farm supply company before his retirement.  He like to garden, feed the birds, hunt, fish, and camp.  He also enjoyed cowboying at a younger age.

Bill is survived by his wife, Wanda Mae Sherrod of the home in Moline, Kansas; one son, Billy Sherrod and wife, Michelle of Anton, Texas; two sisters, Betty Worsham of Lubbock, Texas and Doris Moyers of Edgewood, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many other family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, and one sister.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time.
