An Army veteran from 1969-1970 writes:

Two weeks ago I was visiting the VA hospital in Madison Wisconsin. Stopping in to the retail store to purchase some Haines boxer shorts I noticed they are made in Vietnam. On the end cap of the same shelf unit were hats proudly announcing the wearer served in Vietnam. Glad to know brothers of my generation died so we can purchase cheap underwear today. Remember, we were fighting to prevent the advance of communism, we were told.

This is a good a reason as any other as to why U.S. soldiers died in Vietnam. They certainly didn't die fighting for our freedoms.

My Brother Dwight PROUDLY  served his Country for 25 Years, in the US Navy. He served 2 Tours in Vietnam. He Told me that he wanted to stay in the Navy for 30 Years, but he had seen to many Die, by Natural of in Combat and he DID NOT want to leave his Wife and Children alone in this sometimes Crazy and Mixed Up World. He was a true Christian and Served the Lord Faithfully. I know he is up there now Watching over Gleneva and their Family, and the rest of us. He is surrounded by his BIG Family. "Rest in Peace Big Brother I really miss you.
