Joe Dvid Rogers, 68, of Bushong, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Harrisonville, Missouri.  He was born May 8, 1947 in Blakely, Georgia, the son of Woodrow Wilson and Dicie Janetti (Mathews) Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a truck driver, working the last 8 years for Swift Transport.  He married Karen Lee Jorgensen July 25, 1972 in Donalsonville, Georgia.

Joe is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters, Donna Lynn Madison of Howard, Kansas, Dianna Lee Jorgensen of Slocomb, Alabama, Jessie Ann Rogers of Topeka, Kansas, and Aimee Caroline Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sons, Karl Joe Rogers of Pomona, Kansas, John Curtis Rogers of Emporia, Kansas, and Timothy Alan Rogers of Reading, Kansas; brothers, Wilson Rogers of Malone, Florida and Curtis Rogers of Marianna, Florida; and 11 grandchildren, Michael Smith, Marc Madison, C.J. Madison, Tyler Rogers, Cody Smith, Leigh Ann Williford, Megan Rogers, Alyssa Campbell, Trey Rogers, Robert Campbell, and Colter Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas 66801 on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be conducted by Pastor Rick Smith and Pastor Ken Wilkerson.  Interment will be at the Bushong Cemetery in Bushong, Kansas with a military service by Ball-McColm Post #45, American Legion, and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 21, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
