Patricia Jeanne Squier, 90, was born on a farm in rural Burden, Kansas on December 27, 1925 to Archie D. and Sylvia Jean Utt Rutter.  She spent the greater part of her childhood with her aunt and uncle, Howard and Lauia Ann Hart of Leon, Kansas and later of Severy, Kansas.

Pat attended schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Winslow, Arizona, and Leon, Kansas.  She served in the Army Nurses Corp during World War II.  She married Clinton "Bill" Squier in the Wheeling Avenue Christian Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 14, 1945, and they returned to Beaumont, Kansas to make their home.

Pat joined her husband in a love of animals and announced horse shows all over Kansas and at the State Fair for 25 years, serving three terms as State Cutting Horse Association secretary.  Her love for the Beaumont Christian Church was demonstrated by the many years of service she gave helping with bazaars, dinners, programs, and serving as chairperson many times.  She had a talent for good cooking and cooked at the Beaumont Hotel for many years.  She was the original "Martha Stewart" of the family.  She was an excellent seamstress, making all of her husband's western shirts, the kids' clothes, and very special gifts at Christmas time.  Pat was a community organizer helping with groups such as the Ladies Aid, CWF, and being a 4-H leader.  She also helped with community card games, dinners at a different home each month, and preparing elaborate family holiday dinners.  Pat loved baking for friends and family and the Beaumont Hotel and making and decorating many wedding cakes, all as hobbies that she held dear.

Pat drew all of the illustrations for the historic church cookbook.  She had a forgiving heart and was the "rock" and "peacemaker" of the family, even keeping Bill in line with a cane when she could.  She loved life and ranch and country living, but most of all, she loved her family.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Marce Brewer, Luan McCubbin, Jim Squier, and Jeanne Squier; grandchildren, Vickie Green (Roger), Ann Hoffman (Stuart), Sharla Clark (Kent), Keith McCubbin, Lisa Harrod (Gary), Jared Lewis, Jamie Squier, Jody Squier, J.P. Squier, Mary Jo Squier, Donielle Wira, Chad Carter (Rosie) and Michael Squier; 31 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lauia Ann; a great-grandson, Nicholas Harrod; and a sister and brother-in-law, Wlouise and Blakeman Strait.

Funeral services will be held at the Beaumont Christian Church in Beaumont, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 with Chaplain Charlie Klassen presiding.  Interment will follow at the Beaumont Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaumont Christian Church.  Heritage Funeral Home, 502 W. Central, Andover, Kansas 67002 is in charge of arrangements.
