Ernestine Belle (Logsdon) Morgan, 93, passed away December 25, 2015 at the Winfield Senior Living Community in Winfield, Kansas.  She was born on October 3, 1922 near Wauneta, Kansas on land that was homesteaded by her great-grandparents in Chautauqua County, Kansas, the daughter of William E. and Valeria (Wilson) Logsdon.

Ernestine was raised in Chautauqua County and attended Silver Prairie School and Sedan High School.  She married Alvin Floyd Underwood in Sedan, Kansas on October 4, 1940 where they lived in rural Chautauqua County until moving to Grenola, Kansas in 1953.  After the passing of Alvin on April 9, 1975, Ernestine married William "Bill" Morgan on May 2, 1977 in Wichita, Kansas.  Bill was an oil field worker, and they lived in Grenola, Kansas until his passing on April 21, 1989.  Then Ernestine moved to Winfield, Kansas to be closer to family.

Alvin and Ernestine were active members of the First Christian Church of Grenola.  They later became active members of the Moline Christian Church.  Ernestine was baptized in the Moline Christian Church October 8, 1954.  While living in Grenola, she was a proud homemaker and worked at the Western Auto in Moline, Kansas and the Grenola Locker.  Bill and Ernestine enjoyed gardening and traveling after his retirement.

In November 1994, Ernestine became an active Foster Grandparent in the Winfield Public Schools, a job that she loved at Whittier Elementary School.  There she was widely known and loved as "Grandma Ernestine".  She later retired in 2007.  She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and an avid fan of country music.

Ernestine is survived by her daughters, Alvena Sloan of Arkansas City, Kansas, Navella Ceynar of Douglass, Kansas, Colleen Martin of Burden, Kansas, Emma Kelly of Winfield, Kansas, and Pat Hugenot and husband, Vernon of Sedan, Kansas; her sons, Carrol Underwood and wife, Donna of Winfield, Kansas, Ira Underwood and wife, Louise of Winfield, Kansas, and Ed Morgan and wife, Sally of Moline, Kansas; her brother, Bill Logsdon and wife, Nancy of Joplin, Missouri; her sisters, Nadine Osborn of Fulton, Missouri and Alice Gartner of Independence, Kansas; and a sister-in-law, Louise Logsdon of Oxford, Kansas.  She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her grandchild, Larry McGlasson; her brothers, Leonard Logsdon and John Logsdon; her half-sister, Inis Myers; and her stepchild, Billy Morgan.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Shelley Family Funeral Home in Winfield, Kansas with graveside service following at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Butler County Foster Grandparent Program or the Grenola Christian Church.  Contributions may be left in care of Shelley Family Funeral Home, 803 Loomis, Winfield, Kansas 67156.
