Norma June Book, age 86, of Moline, Kansas, passed away November 22, 2015 at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas.  June was born October 1, 1929 in Moline, the daughter of Albert Clare and Eva Louise (Lancett) Horn.

June graduated from Moline High School and married Freddie J. Book.  She owned and operated Fred's IGA in Moline for nearly a half century.  She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Moline, delivered Friendship Meals, was an avid bird watcher, loved square dancing, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

June is survived by her daughter, Carol Pinckney; her sister, Marlys Horn; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Eva; her husband, Freddie; her son, Jon David Book; her brother, Bill Horn; and her sister, Lee Horn. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Moline, Kansas.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church.  Family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church in Moline, and contributions may be mailed to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1233, Howard, Kansas, which is in charge of arrangements.
