Francis "John" Watts, 78, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Freeman Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri.  He was born November 14, 1937 in Quincy, Kansas, the son of Arthur and Anna (Crouch) Watts.

John grew up and attended school in Quincy.  He was united in marriage to Ardell Buck on June 9, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma.  He worked for K.E. Snyder Well Service for 24 years.  In November of 2004, John and Ardell retired to Afton, Oklahoma. 

John will remain in the hearts of his wife, Ardell of their home in Afton, Oklahoma; three daughters, Kerry (Larry) Crane of Virgil, Kansas, Pam (Johnny) Schoenhals of Afton, Oklahoma, and Robin Watts (Darrell) Holtsclaw of Virgil, Kansas; two sons, Jarrod Watts of Hamilton, Kansas and Brian Kruschensky of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas; sisters, Anna Mae Hare of Coyville, Kansas, Dolly Ashlock of Eureka, Kansas, JoAnn Ashlock of Virgil, Kansas, Faye Johnson of Eureka, Kansas, Sharon Hellman of Eureka, Kansas, and Nellie Johnson of Howard, Kansas; a brother, Arthur Ray "Bub" Watts of Virgil, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kenneth Watts, Walter Watts, and Bert Watts; and two sisters, Adeline and Emily.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Virgil Cemetery in Virgil, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O.
