Cherry Sue (Horton) Illg, 65, of Marrero, Louisiana, passed away on October 12, 2015 at home with her family and dear friends by her side.  She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 10, 1950.

Cherry enjoyed painting and spending time with family and friends.  She never knew a stranger, and everyone loved her.

Cherry is survived by her husband of 48 years, Glenn Illg of Marrero, Louisiana; two daughters, Leslie (Illg) Gerstner (Kevin) and Julie (Illg) Childress (Gary); sister, Carla Jean Laiche (David); brothers-in-law, John Robert Illg (Carolyn) and Richard Thomas Illg; grandchildren, Paige Nichole Childress and Cayden Douglas Childress; and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Lou Rizzuto (formerly of Howard, Kansas) and Lloyd Eugene Horton (formerly of Pampa, Texas).

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Leitz-Egan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana 70006.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.  An online guestbook is available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
