Clara C. Atkinson, age 100, of Fall River, Kansas, passed away October 8, 2015 at Elm Haven in Parsons, Kansas.  Clara was born September 25, 2015 in Fall River, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Woodburn) Marcy.

Clara graduated from Fall River High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas in 1969.  On August 7, 1939, she married Leonard Earl Atkinson in Fall River, Kansas.  Clara and Leonard were married for 25 years until his death in August 1964.  Clara worked as a teacher in the Fall River and Fredonia school systems.  She later worked for and retired from the State of Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

Survivors include her three children, Linda (Wayne) Moulds of South Fork, Colorado, Jim (Joyce) Atkinson of Iola, Kansas, and Rita (Keith) Stapleton of Fall River, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Diana Moulds, Jayme (Gary) Kral, Jason Atkinson, Tracy (Jarrod) Robson, Shaun (Heather) Stapleton, and Eric (Michelle) Stapleton; and 8 great-grandchildren, Leila and Caleb Kral, Delaney and Landry Robson, Gavyn and Evan Stapleton, and Wyatt and Kasen Stapleton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leonard Earl Akinson.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Robin Haines officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Fall River Booster Club and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
