Maria Coletta Vancil, formerly of Severy, Kansas, died October 2, 2015 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas at the age of 88.  She was born August 23, 1927 in Howard, Kansas to Samuel Wilbur and Alvina Katherine (Luff) Mayne.

On February 5, 1944, she was united in marriage to Howard Leon Vancil in Howard, Kansas.  After they were married, they lived in California. To this union, two children, Gary and Sharon, were born.  They later lived in El Dorado, Kansas before moving to Severy to operate Severy Auto Body and Salvage Shop.  Howard preceded her in death on June 14 2008.

Coletta is survived by two grandchildren, Steve and wife, Tami Vancil of Fall River, Kansas and Kelly Vancil of Severy, Kansas; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Juanita Redmond of Topeka, Kansas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Severy United Methodist Church with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth officiating.  Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045 which is in charge of service arrangements.
