Loren Edward Kling, 90, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015.  He was born to the late Adam Henry Kling and May Marie (Clark) Kling on September 22, 1924 in Howard, Kansas.

Loren graduated from Howard High School in 1942.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II and later joined and retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army Reserve. 

Loren married Elizabeth Ardelia Weyrauch on February 26, 1950.  They were married for nearly 65 years, living in Howard Kansas until 1968 when they moved to Lenexa.  He was a long time federal employee having worked for the United States Post Office in Howard, Kansas and retiring from the Social Security Administration in Kansas City, Missouri in 1986.

Loren was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Past Commander of Carter-Rader Post 149 of the American Legion in Howard, Kansas.  During his life, he was a 4-H leader in Elk County, Kansas.  Hunting, fishing, camping, and snow skiing with family were just a few of the activities Loren enjoyed throughout his life.

Loren is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; daughters, Sandra Keast (Mark) of Clovis, New Mexico and Beth McDaniel (Dennis) of Ogden, Utah; sons, David Kling (Cindy) of Olathe, Kansas and Delven Kling (Jackie) of Imperial, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held at the Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215 on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with family members gathering in the Wesley Room at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lenexa United Methodist Church or Carter-Rader Post 149 in Howard, Kansas.  To send condolences or leave a special message, please visit AraCremation.com.

A graveside committal service for Loren E. Kling will be held September 26, 2015.  Loren was born September 22, 1924 in Howard, Kansas.  He died January 16, 2015 in Lenexa, Kansas.

A Committal of Ashes will be held September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lawn Cemetery  in Howard, Kansas.  Military honors will be provided by the Honor Guard of American Legion Carter-Rader Post #149.
