Helen Louise Hastings, 87, passed away September 1, 2015.  She was born in Elk County, Kansas on July 5, 1928, the daughter of John J. and Mary Ann (Richards) Wells.

Helen is survived by her children, Ann (Charles) Atteberry, Sonny (Joy) Hastings, Glendena (Bill) Kelly, D.J. (Kathy) Hastings, and Maxine Rossiter; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Dorothy Crumrine-Coleman, Shirley Blake, and Virgil (Alice) Wells.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Wells; her husband, Glenn Hastings; and 8 siblings, Eula Malone, Olive Hillis, Lucille Vick, Cleland Wells, Wilbert Wells, Wanda Joy, Neva Jean Linden, and Robert Wells.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas.  Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at 47th Street Church of Christ, 601 W. 47th Street South, Wichita, Kansas 67217.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market Street, Wichita, Kansas 67202 or the 47th Street Church of Christ Youth Fund.
