In signing the Republican loyalty oath, Trump said: "I will be totally pledging my allegiance to the Republican Party and the conservative principles for which it stand."

First of all, pledging allegiance to the GOP is about the worst thing that one could ever pledge allegiance to. And second, what conservative principles would that be? The welfare state? The warfare state? The police state? The national security state? The nanny state? The regulatory state? Foreign wars? Foreign aid? Drone strikes on civilians? Torture? Farm subsidies? Empire?
