Nancy "Darlene" Brand of Eureka, Kansas died on August 25, 2015 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 81.  She was born on July 21, 1934 in Howard, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Antone and Mildred Frances (Shipman) Schneider.

Darlene was raised in the Howard area until the age of ten when the family moved to Eureka.  She graduated from Eureka High School.  She was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Brand in Howard, Kansas in September 1972.  They made their home in Eureka.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Nancy Watson of Eureka, Kansas; four sisters, Lois Clark of Newton, Kansas, Judy Stackley of El Dorado, Kansas, Sherry Owen of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Jeanette Griffith of Newton, Kansas; and two brothers, David Schneider of Eureka, Kansas and Larry Schneider of Richmond, Kansas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka, Kansas with Mr. Jayme Koup officiating.  Visitation hours are set from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Kansas Humane Society.  Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak Street,  Eureka, Kansas 67045 which is in charge of service arrangements.
