This is how our parents wheeled the brood around in the 60s. Before there were Safety Nazis and an omnipotent Nanny State. Now, such a thing would warrant a visit from Child (un)Protective Services.

You have not had  the pleasure of scraping a child off the pavement after they fall or were thrown out of a fast moving car. I have. It's hard! :'(
Look now at the older ones who are tossed out and killed in relatively minor accidents, but had no seat belt on.  Do you have any idea how devastated even grandparents were when their grandchild was killed in an avoidable accident ? and now the latest "person freedom" killer...cell phones! Freedom comes with responsibilities and some don't want to live up to that part.
Lots of sympathy after a death, but no interest in preventing it in the first place? Safety Nazis? It figures.
Yes, you have the freedom to do stupid things. Feel free. Maybe you'll get away with it, so you can thumb your nose at the people who actually care about their kids.
So you wouldn't use kid seats in the back, no seat belts, cut off the Nader bolt, replace the shatter proof glass, re build the crumple zones, remove the easier to see high stop lights and take out the air bags, because they pinch your personal freedom?  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

No one gets out of this life alive.Kids dieing in car wreaks are awful ,but insurance companys are taking over this country, the point is the loss of freedoms not if you love your kids and grandkids. But thanks Di for posting.

Diane is one of those who has a great appreciation for the government forcing you to do the things that she wants you to do.  Do what she says.
