Shane Joseph Tunison, 39, of Moline, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.  Shawn fought a valiant fight against Aplastic Anemia for 10 years.  He was born on August 17, 1975 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Marcus Wayne and Terri Ann (Newcomb) Johnson.  He was their only child, and in 1978, Mark and Terri were divorced.

On June 14, 1980, J.L. Tunison Jr., Terri, and Shane were married in a ceremony at Belknap and thus started their life together as a family.  Shane attended Sedan and West Elk Schools, graduating from West Elk High School in 1993.  He graduated from Hutchinson Community College and Kansas State University with a B.S. in Production Agriculture.  On September 28, 2000, Shane married Amy Dick and Cameron at Sedan, Kansas.  They made their home in Salina, Kansas.  On September 24, 2001, their son, Clayton was born.  Shane worked several different jobs, but the one he really enjoyed and excelled at was his job at Long-McArthur Ford in Salina.  In September 2005, Shane was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.  Shane and Amy were later divorced.

Shane was a cowboy, singer, biker, and rendezvous enthusiast during his lifetime.  He enjoyed people, music, the open road, and camping with his friends.  Shane will be sorely missed by so many people whose lives he touched.

Shane is survived by his sons, Clayton and Cameron of Minneapolis, Kansas; his parents, J. L. and Terri Tunison of Moline, Kansas; his dad, Mark and Debbie Johnson of Arkansas; his grandmother, Geneva Johnson of Arkansas; special aunts, Pat Jones and Lou Anderson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.  Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Opal Newcomb, John and Wilma Tunison, and Gerald Johnson.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dickens Family Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan, Kansas.  Afterwards the Sedan Community Building (Country Club) will be available to family and friends who would like to meet to visit and reminisce. 

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be left with Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361 to the Chautauqua County 4-H Scholarship Fund or to the Hope Lodge in Kansas where cancer patients and caregivers can stay for free during treatment.
