Damon Lee Wilson, age 16, of Howard, Kansas, passed away May 26, 2015 in rural Howard from injuries due to an automobile accident.  He was born on May 6, 1999 in Wichita, Kansas to Craig and Gina (Howell) Wilson.

Damon was a student at West Elk High School where he had just completed his sophomore year.  He was very outgoing and was active in numerous school activities.  He played quarterback on the football team as well as being a member of the basketball, baseball, and track teams.  Damon was also an active member of Future Farmers of America, FCLA, Student Council, and National Honor Society.  He worked as a lifeguard at the Howard City Pool and was a member of a traveling baseball team during the summer.  He also enjoyed coaching youth football and basketball teams.

Damon was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.  He loved his family and friends and made sure they knew he loved them.  He was a great natured person and always loved to play pranks on others.

Damon is survived by his parents, Craig and Gina Wilson, and brother, Tristen Wilson, all of the home in Howard, Kansas; his grandparents, Lee and Kay Howell of Howard, Kansas and Robert and Sherri Wilson of Moline, Kansas; his aunt, Stacy Howell; his uncle, Mark Wilson; his cousins, Rae'Ven Loudermilk, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Devin Loudermilk, and Skylar Harrod; and his best friend, Cade Miller.

Cremation has been effected.  The family is planning a memorial service on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the West Elk High School with Pastor Stacy Ellsworth and Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.  Online condolences  may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the West Elk High School Scholarship Fund in Damon Wilson's name and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services are entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
