Donnie Gene Wallace, age 78, of Caney, Kansas, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at home with his family beside him.  Don was born on September 6, 1936 in Sedan, Kansas to Inez Wallace-McAfee.  He was raised by his aunt and family, Blossom "Jo' and Ray Fine and cousin, Jimmy Dee Fine.

On September 17, 1960, Don married Kay Lewis of Moline, Kansas.  He worked for Koch Oil Company for over 30 years before retiring to his farm north of Havana, Kansas.

Don is survived by his wife, Kay of the home in Caney, Kansas; two sons, Allen Wallace of Port Lavaca, Texas and Donnie Ray Wallace and wife, Joyce of Dearing, Kansas; two daughters, Connie Layton and husband, Leroy of Caney, Kansas and Taren Laney and husband, Ryan of Pratt, Kansas; and 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez; two brothers, Dennis Wallace and Billie Dean Wallace; his aunt and uncle, Blossom and Ray Fine; and his grandson, Justin Wallace.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial graveside service was held April 29, 2015 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Dan Carr of the Bolton United Methodist Church officiating.  The family has suggested memorials to the Sedan Roundup Club or the Havana United Methodist Church.  Contributions may be left in care of Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N.
