James H. "Herb" Davis, age 89, passed away on January 17, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was born October 10, 1925 in Moline, Kansas to Alonzo Davis and Alma (Brown) Davis.

Herb received his general education from the Moline Public Schools.  After his graduation, he began his career as a Civil Engineer Technician in the United States Army Corps of Engineers.  He retired in 1988 after 32 years of service. 

Herb served with the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945 during World War II as a radio control operator on the USS Saratoga aircraft carrier.  He was a loving, thoughtful, and generous man who loved his family above all else.

Herb is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; two daughters, Cheryl Pruitt and Sonia (John) McAfee; and grandchildren, Michael Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, Stephanie Pruitt, Mitchell Pruitt, John T. McAfee, and Rachel McAfee.
