Doris Ann Brinegar passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 in Salina, Kansas.  She was 68 years of age and a longtime resident of Salina.  Doris Ann was born in Albany, California to Arthur and Doris Parker.

Doris Ann moved with her family to Kansas in 1947.  She graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas in 1964.  In 1969, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in Art and Psychology at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas.  In 1976, she received her Masters of Science in Educational Administration from Emporia State University.

On May 28, 1967, she married Cary Brinegar, and to this union were born two sons, Brett and Brian.  Doris Ann taught Art for seven years before becoming the Director of Little House Adult Learning Center and Chief GED examiner for Salina.  She served in those positions for 24 years.  During retirement, she worked part-time for the Kansas Board of Regents conducting performance evaluations of all Kansas adult GED programs.

Doris Ann is survived by her husband, Cary Bringer of Salina, Kansas; sons, Brett Brinegar of Burlington, Kansas and Brian Brinegar of Smithville, Texas; granddaughter, Darienne Goddard of Smithville, Texas; her mother, Doris Parker of Great Falls, Montana; her siblings, Pete (Ann) Parker of Katy, Texas, Gloria (Jerry) Badgett of Power, Montana, and Peggy (Tim) Kimmet of Rudyard, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Parker.

Memorial Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina, Kansas.  There will be no visitation, and interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Salina Education Foundation of GED scholarships.  Arrangements are being entrusted to Ryan Mortuary & Crematory, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina, Kasnas 67401.
