Joyce Mae Cass, 75, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015.  She was born February 2, 1939 in Howard, Kansas to Dreva (Rice) and Walter Boone.

She married Maurice Ray Cass on March 31, 1957.  She was employed by AISD until her retirement in 2004.

Survivors include her children, Mike Cass and Candy, Troy Cass and Terry, Scott Cass and Kathy, all of Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Betty Loyd of Kansas and Sandy Swingle of Florida; one brother, Terry Boone of Kansas; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Cass; her parents, Walter Boone and Dreva Boone-Redmond; her brother, Donnie Ray Boone; Leanne Taylor; and her granddaughter, Chelsea Cass.

Funeral service will be held on January 7, 2015 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene, Texas with interment to follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.elmwoodfuneral.com.  Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606 is in charge of arrangements.
