James K. "Jim" Edgington, 70, owner of Edgington Construction and a finish carpenter for 50 years, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marlene of the home in Wichita, Kansas; his son, Robert Edgington (Chris) of Wichita, Kansas; his daughter, Debra Burgess (Dorsey) of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Irene Scheuerman (Virgil) of Winfield, Kansas and Phyllis Pollard (Glenn) of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda), Emilee, Aubrey, Marisa, and Noah; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 and Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014, both at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Schulte, Kansas (11000 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, Kansas).  Graveside Inurnment Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.

Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202 and Mt. Olivet Cemetery Fund, Moline, Kansas 67353.  Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple, Wichita, Kansas 67206 is in charge of arrangements.

Jim grew up in Moline, Kansas and was a graduate of Moline High School.  He is married to the former Marlene Walker.
