Vernon Ray Batemon, age 66, died September 28, 2014 at his home in Wichita, Kansas. 

He was retired from Davis-Moore auto detail department and was currently a school bus driver for U.S.D. #265 in Goddard, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen Batemon; sons, Butch Hanson and Clinton Batemon; brothers, Roy and Roger Batemon; sister, Joyce Mortimer; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.  Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Angeline (Hinkle) Batemon and brother, Bobby Batemon.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Cross Point Free Will Baptist Church, 1515 E. Harry, Wichita, Kansas.  Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. on October 2, 2014 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas.
