Patriot Sunday . . . . .

I recently blogged about Patriot Sunday as it relates to the military. But Patriot Sunday is not just about the military. This church is not only having a former Navy SEAL speak this Sunday, but "this unique service will call us to remember, honor, and thank those dedicated individuals who invest their lives in response to those in need daily: Fire, Medical, Military and Police." Note that "public officials" will also be recognized and state representatives and law enforcement will speak. I note also that the well-known Christian attorney who will also speak "defends Bible-believing churches and Christians who are experiencing difficulty in practicing their religious faith because of governmental regulation, intrusion, or prohibition in one form or another." Yet, the church dedicates the church service to agents of government. No doubt the troops that are in Afghanistan and going back to Iraq will be lauded as heroes.

Our churches must be demilitarized.
