Married at the home of the bride's parents in Howard, Kansas on Wednesday morning, June 1st, 1910 at 6 o'clock, Miss Della Courtney and Mr. Wayne Shaw of Grenola.  Rev. John Rice of the First Congregational church at Emporia, a friend of the groom, performed the ceremony.  Only a small number of relatives and near friends were present.

Mrs. Shaw is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Courtney of howard.  She has lived in Howard for several years, moving in from west of town where she was raised.  She is a graduate of the Howard High school, class of 1907 and is a talented and beautiful young lady.

Mr. Shaw is well known to all Grenola people having lived here the greater part of his life.  He has been principal of the Grenola schools for the past two years and has been retained again for the coming term.  He is one of the best young men in Elk county and a host of friends wish them joy and happiness.

They left Howard on the seven o'clock train for Emporia, where Mr. Shaw will take advance work during the summer in the State Normal.  They will then come to Grenola, where they will make their home. - Grenola Leader.
