Laura Ellen Walker, 90, of Eureka, Kansas, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.  She was born on March 16, 1924, the daughter of Howard and Isal (Powell) Pontious in Fowler, Kansas.

She was raised in Fowler and later lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  In March of 1942, she was united in marriage to Albert Palmer "A.P." Sears in El Dorado, Kansas.  To this union, three children were born.  This marriage later ended in divorce.  On February 26, 1974, she was united in marriage to Herbert Floyd Walker in Wiley, Texas.  He preceded her in death on February 6, 2002.  She was a homemaker and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Phil Elliott in Eureka, Kansas.

She is survived by two sons, Roy Sears of League City, Texas and Eddie Sears of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Linda Wunderlich of Piedmont, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Hazel, Roy, Mabel, and Ila Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak Street, Eureka, Kansas with Pastor Alan Hunter of the First Baptist Church of Howard officiating.  Interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery in Piedmont, Kansas.
