Steven Lee Ford, age 53, a resident of Augusta, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.  He was born December 31, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Leslie Lloyd and Dorothy (Cain) Ford.

Steve attended school in Moline, Kansas and later received his GED through Manhattan, Kansas.  On December 9, 1978, he married Diana O. Worden in Moline, Kansas.  They later divorced.  While living in Wamego, Kansas, Steve worked for Sackrider's Greenhouse.  He enjoyed working with the plants and driving the delivery truck.  He also worked on several jobs with his Dad in the electrical trade.

Steve enjoyed gardening, cooking, being with his grandkids, and he loved fishing, feeling close to God when he was on the riverbank.  He loved his dog "Peaches", whom he sometimes called "Fruit" and oftentimes took her with him when he went fishing.

Steve is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ford of Moline, Kansas; two daughters, Elisha Crupper of Howard, Kansas, and Shelly and her husband, Darren Underwood of Atlanta, Kansas; one son, Robert Ford of Huntington, West Virginia; two granddaughters, Olivia Patten of Howard, Kansas and Allee Underwood of Andover, Kansas; four grandsons, Logan and C.J. Patten of Howard, Kansas and Kaden and Darren Underwood Jr. of Atlanta, Kansas; one sister, Marilyn McNee of Moline, Kansas; one brother, Michael Ford of Iola, Kansas; his grandmother, Bernice Cain of Moline, Kansas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Jessie Ford and Paul Cain, and his father, Leslie Ford.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Elk Falls United Methodist Church in Elk Falls, Kansas with Pastor Dena Allison officiating.  Inurnment will be held at Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund at Countryside Funeral Home to help with arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
