REA: Negatives and Boondoggles

Created by executive order by FDR, this process was of doubtful constitutionality. That didn't stop it.

Why should government chill and crowd out these voluntary exchanges by forcibly extracting funds from taxpayers? What, if anything, makes government bureaucrats and representatives better able to judge who should get what and who should be forced to pay to others?
