Margaret graduated from Longton High School in 1947.  She attended Independence Kansas Jr. College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Redlands in California.  She later received a Masters degree from Boston University.  Margaret taught elementary education and then became an editor of textbooks at Addison Wesley Publishers.  In 1970, she moved to Palo Alto, California due to a job transfer, and while living there, she met and married her husband, Philip Sloan in 1975.

Surviving is a sister, Trudy Webster of Twin Falls, Idaho; a brother, Robert Megredy of Los Angeles, California; 2 stepsons, Robert and Phyllis Sloan and their four sons of Sunnyvale, California and Chris and Andrea Sloan and their two children of Beaverton, Oregon; and 38 nieces and nephews.  Her husband, Philip, preceded her in death in 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Kingsbury, and a brother, Richard Megredy.

The family will miss Margaret's wit and intelligence, great smile, and sense of humor.
