Norma Dean McNeely, age 86, a resident of Grenola, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her home.  She was born October 7, 1917 in Grenola, the daughter of O. A. and Maggie (Crowther) Pinegar.

Norma graduated from Grenola High School.  On August 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to William Jordan McNeely.  They celebrated 62 years of marriage before William's death on November 13, 2008.  Norma worked for many years as a beautician.  She enjoyed quilting, raising cattle, and being a community supporter for Grenola.

Norma is survived by her son, Mark McNeely of Porter, Oklahoma; her daughter, Marsha Phillippi of Winfield, Kansas; and 11 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and one brother.

Cremation has taken place, and a private inurnment will take place at the Winfield Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the ATRC (American Therapeutic Riding Center), P.O.
