Let's pay attention to what's happening in the kitchen. "Preventing Kitchen Fires" is this year's national theme. Kitchen fires are the leading cause of home fires in the US. Distractions while cooking cause many of them. Bad cords and faulty appliances cause some also. Can you share some fire safety tips?  Check that smoke detector.  Feed it a new battery at least once a year and replace the whole unit every 9-10 years. Be sure your kids know what you want them to do in case of a fire. Stay safe out there!
