Larry Dean Drake, age 60, a resident of Parsons, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Labette Health in Parsons.  He was born in Binger, Oklahoma on December 7, 1952, the son of Lorene Eugene and Ora Idell (Sheffield) Drake.

Larry enjoyed all outdoors activities, such as playing baseball, softball, basketball, and participating in Special Olympics.

Larry is survived by three brothers, Eddie Drake and his wife, Marilyn of Derby, Kansas, Loren Drake and his wife, Betty of Dover, Arkansas, and Bobby Drake and his wife, Tami of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Frances Elston and Aleta Huntington, both of Wichita, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.  Interment followed at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard.  Family suggests memorial contributions to the Special Olympics, and these may be left with the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are entrusted to Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E.
