Glen Leroy Vick, 76, of Arkansas City, Kansas, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the South Central Kansas Medical Center in Arkansas City.  He was born May 30, 1937 in Elk County, Kansas to Roland Merle Vick and Mary Lucille (Wells) Vick.

Glen graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas, class of 1955.  He proudly served our country in the United States Navy.  He married Virginia R. Welch of July 3, 1960 in Cherryvale, Kansas.  The couple moved to Arkansas City in 1969.  Glen worked for Rock Island Lumber in Independence, Kansas and for Woods Lumber Company in Arkansas City for 30 years.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Arkansas City.

Glen is survived by his wife, Virginia Vick; sons, Jeffrey Vick and wife, Deborah of Brighton, Tennessee and Kevin Vick of El Dorado, Kansas; daughter, Becky Steiner and husband, USMC Chief Warrant Officer 5 James A. Steiner V of Oceanside, California; brother, Vernon Hughes of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandchildren, Christine Lucille Vick, Paula Irene Vick, Courtney Lucille Steiner, and James Ace Steiner VI; and nieces Cher Brown and Vonda Donaldson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Vick; and niece, Shelly Hayden.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 321 S. 1st Street, Arkansas City, Kansas 67005.  Reverend Danny Daniel and Reverend Joyce Daniel will officiate.

A memorial has been established with the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home or the First Presbyterian Church of Arkansas City.  Arrangements are being entrusted to Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, 100 E. Kansas Avenue, Arkansas City, Kansas 67005.
