Betty Lou Conner, 84, of Bellevue, Washington, passed away April 20, 2013.  She was born in 1929 in Winfield, Kansas where she spent her childhood and met the love of her life, Fred Conner, her husband of 57 years.  

Fred and Betty Lou married in 1948 and moved to Norman, Oklahoma where Fred attended the University of Oklahoma and Betty Lou worked as a telephone operator.  Eventually they moved back to Kansas where they raised their three sons.  In 1962, they followed Fred's job with Boeing to Bellevue, Washington.  The lived in the same home in the Newport Hills area of Bellevue for 45 years, developing many close friendships.

From road trips to European vacations, Betty Lou and Fred loved to travel and saw a great deal of the world.  Betty was fond of cruise ships.  She and Fred loved spending time at the family cabin on Hood Canal.  Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty Lou's greatest joy was found when surrounded by loved ones.  Kind and compassionate to all who had the good fortune of being in her presence, never one to complain, Betty Lou was patient and tolerant and gave friends and family her undivided support.  Her warm smile and generous spirit will be missed.

She is survived by sons, Craig and Eric; daughter-in-law, Sue; granddaughters, Amy, Holly, Caryanne, Heather, and Alicia; and great grandsons, William, Sawyer, and Hunter.  Betty was very fond of her three sisters, Janet, who preceded her in death in 2012, Genny, and Myrna Kay.  She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin, in 1971 and by her beloved husband in 2005.

A memorial service will be held April 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Factoria, Washington.  Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, Washington.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CVC (Chateau Valley Center) Employee Appreciation, 4415 Davis Avenue S, Renton, Washington 98055 or to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church.  Remembrances may be shared at www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are by Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, Washington 98007.

Betty Lou (Harrison) Conner was the daughter of the late "Shorty" Harrison and the step-daughter of the late Anita Winn Harrison-Hatfield, both former residents of Elk County.
