I enjoyed watching the Academy Awards last night. It was nice to mentally escape for a time. I wonder what happened with the best picture award? Very strange indeed. I'm sure they will eventually figure out what went wrong. Not that it matters, as everyone did the right thing and it ended well.
Then there were the shootings in Kansas. A nut case for sure.

We're prepping for a potential big "Nor'easter" on Tuesday. At this point we  here could get hit hard, or not have much at all. We've had so little snow this winter, I'll not complain, but so much has been opening up from the warm weather, it could wipe out his year's peach crop. I'm expecting flattened spring flowers and the big magnolia buds have already turned brown.

My magnolias were in full bloom a couple of weeks ago, but have since been blackened by frost. Tonights temps should take care of lots of things. I had to start the heater in the greenhouse today. Kansas in spring. Bipolar I'm thinkin',

Today and tomorrow are those two days before a storm that everyone hates. The path up the coast isn't quite set, so a bit west or east can change dramatically who gets how much of what. The schools have to decide whether to close,  the beach folks have to decide whether to prepare for flooding and tidal damage. We have to decide whether to put the chains on the fire apparatus and put the snow plow on the field fire truck, etc.
Al was supposed to have his 5 year colonoscopy on Wednesday, but we rescheduled that for two weeks. So, now we just wait and see and hope the wind isn't too bad, hope we don't lose power or have much damage. Have a nice Sunday y'all.

Wake-up!

6dogmom- You have a greenhouse. My bucket list includes building a small one this year, something like 10 x 16. Do you heat with propane, natural gas, or kerosene? How many months a year do you us the greenhouse? Any attempt to cool it in the summer? Just vent fans? Or? My thought is to use one from mid-February into June, no cooling, but maybe a circulation fan.
The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government.

The greatest mistake in American history was letting government educate our children.

The storm is here and it's really strange. We've had several inches of snow, but about 7AM it changed to ice and has coated everything.Trees and wires are starting to fall and some have lost power. So far we're fine. Al went out already to do a first go with the big snow blower. It's soppy wet stuff that is supposed to change back to all snow later this morning for several more inches of just snow. We'll see what actually happens. I made  big pan of oatmeal so he can warm up his tummy when he come back in.

Wake-up,  my greenhouse is teeny tiny, just built onto the south side of my little barn in the front yard. My sweet  man built it for me a few years back. But i do enjoy it, it a little puttering I do just like the chickens.

So Diane, how much snow did you end up getting all together?

Diane Amberg

We were lucky right here....Had about 4 inches of snow with about 2 inches of sleet and ice. Just north of here had twice that. We never lost power, but much of our area did and several friends lost big yard trees. We had at least 30 calls for trees and wires down and into houses. It was a mess but could have been worse and was north of here.
