The parade on Sunday went very well. Lou Angeli did come and took wonderful photos for us. Guess where he is now? I think the tornado had hardly hit when he caught a plane to OK and is there taking fire service photos. He posted some already. It's just as terrible as everyone thinks it is.  Prayers continue.
My family in Shawnee andTecumseh are all ok, but had some neighbors hit very hard not far away.

I grew passion flowers in Minnesota - they are sooo beautiful!

Purple ones or the pretty blue? I like both. I'm thinking I might have Al  put up a trellis on my south bed and try one if it would get enough hours of sun

I need my head examined maybe. Went to the grocery store today and they had five Oso Easy roses left from Mothers' day. As they say, I made them an offer they couldn't refuse and home they came. I need to do some pruning but I think they are salvagable, I hope, I hope. So I got get off here and get BUSY!  :D

Sixdogs, I just resurrected an old thread called "Roses".  It is full of excellent information about roses, etc.  The only thing it doesn't mention is how to get someone else to do the planting and care of them.

Hope yours get along just fine without a lot of fuss and bother.  I really enjoy mine when they are blooming.

Six,I'll bet those roses will do fine. Plenty of sun ,enough water and some love should do the trick if they have good roots. What colors?

So it looks like Wichita is going to get a good many of the big refueling tankers. That's nice for your economy.

There are three Paprika and two Mango Salsa. They should not be difficult to see if they bloom!  :D :D

This is national EMS week.  "One mission One team." We had  a big thank you BBQ out behind st.8 in the big parking lot for all the neighboring ambulance comapanies and NNC Paramedic units who were near enough to stop by and still respond if they got called out. Really nice. Now for the not so nice.
Al is still a director for Newark Emergency Center here in town. They have their annual board meeting tonight at the University and Whist Club. Al never made it. Not far from here, he was waiting in line for the light to  change when, wham, he got hit in the rear. If the "sweet young thing" as he called her, was on the cell phone or texting or drinking, she may have to deal with me!
He didn't think he was hurt, but here we go again.... just waiting to hear more. GRRRRRR!
