                                                        Succumbs at Hospital.


Relatives and the many friends of Truman Harrington were shocked Wednesday afternoon about 4:30 when the news came that he had suffered a heart attack and were saddened Thursday morning when they learned Truman had passed away at 10:45PM at St. Mary"s Hospital in Winfield.

Mr. Harrington and his brother Beryl were returning from market in Wichita, when he became ill near Burden and was given emergency treatment there before he was taken to the hospital.

Truman was an outstanding farmer and stockman of our community, he was congenial and above speaking in critieism of his fellowman.  Truman will not only be missed by his family and relatives but by his many friends.

Joseph Truman Harrington was born at Cambridge, Kansas on June 8, 1909, the son of Allen and Letha Harrington, deceased and passed away Wednesday July 25th 1951 at the age of 42.  On September 3, 1934 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Sweet of Grenola.  To this union were born five children, Mary, Carolyn, Jimmie and Beth and Margaret Ann, who preceded him in death in 1938 at the age of 11 months. Other survivors are four brothers, Beryl and Floyd of Grenola, Milburn of Auberry, Calif and Robert of Savannah, Ga; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ethelene Newbold of Winfield, Mrs. Berniece Adams of Elk Falls, and Mrs. Maxine Larson of Coalinga, California.

Mr. Harrington was a member of the Catholic Church in Moline where he and his family were regular attendants.

The Rosary was recited at the Rarick Mortuary, Friday at 8 PM.  The Mass of Requiem was held at St. Mary"s Church in Moline Saturday at 9 AM with the Rev. John Rusteika officiating.  Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery.

Pallbearers were : John Bacus, Olin Foster, Gilbert Nickleson, Fred Depew of Grenola and Bill Kill and Toby Foust of Moline.
