Virgil Frank Barnett, age 92, of Cadiz, Kentucky, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz of natural causes.  He was born on August 12, 1920 in Macksville, Kansas, the son of Frank and Minnie (Smith) Barnett.

On May 24, 1941, Virgil was united in marriage to Viola Mae Osborn in Independence, Kansas.  He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Frank is survived by his son, Dallas Frank Barnett of McKenzie, Tennessee; two daughters, Della Barnett of Piqua, Ohio and Doradean Barnett of Montgomery, Alabama; one brother, Charles Barnett of Altoona, Kansas; four sisters, Melba Foote of Winfield, Kansas, Mildred Strome of Herington, Kansas, Joyce Woodall of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Margie Ann of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola;  his sister, Jean Lee; and his brother, Joe Barnett.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.  Interment will be at Elk Falls Cemetery in Elk Falls, Kansas.  Family suggests contributions to the New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Judy Terrell, 149 Oakland Church Road, Cadiz, Kentucky 42211 and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
