Last Tuesday, June 11th, marks the 34th anniversary of film legend and cinema Western hero John Wayne's death.  Seems only fitting to have a Second Amendment compilation of gun rights/gun control cartoons and memes to honor John Wayne:

Peace Through Pork...
Ammo Company Comes Up With Jihad-Proof
Pork-Infused Bullets

With two layers of pork deterrent...

(Gives a whole new definition to "when pigs fly"... send that ammo to Syria)

Jihawg Ammunition 9mm Pig Tainted Ammo – an all natural deterrent to sudden jihad syndrome.(http://jihawg.com/ammunition)

An Idaho company has come up with a culturally-sensitive solution to dealing with sudden jihad syndrome...(http://www.conservapedia.com/Sudden_Jihad_Syndrome)
Pork-infused bullets.

Via Ammoland:
You've probably already heard about the bizarre, Islamist slaughter of an off-duty British soldier in broad daylight on a busy street in London in May 2013.

The two assailants struck the victim with a car then jumped out and began hacking and slashing him with knives and a meat cleaver. The murderers then strutted around the victim's body for 15 to 20 minutes until armed police arrived, upon which the self-proclaimed jihadists launched an assault on the police and were shot.

Most strange is the way that the attackers waited around after the slaughter, strutting and bragging, but not particularly threatening or attempting to harm any of the onlookers, until armed police units finally arrived, at which point the murderers commenced what could only be characterized as a suicide attack – having brought knives to a gunfight.

Many have asked why the attackers just waited around for the armed police. Why didn't they flee or continues attacking others, as one might expect from a couple of crazed murderers? What were they waiting for?

The answer to that question is very significant. These men were waiting for their tickets to Paradise – and 72 virgins. They engaged in their act of jihad, killing an "infidel aggressor, enemy of Islam," and then waited around for the armed police to show up so they could die in battle for Allah's glory, martyrs, and therefore elected for special rewards in Paradise. [...]

A company in northern Idaho has come up with a culturally sensitive solution. Jihawg Ammo has developed a proprietary system for infusing ballistic paint with pork. The special pork-infused paint is then applied to the bullets of loaded ammunition. The inclusion of pork in the paint makes the bullets haraam, or unclean. Under Islamic law, anyone who comes in contact with any haraam item is then unclean, and must engage in a cleansing ritual. No unclean person can be admitted into Paradise. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 72 virgins.

Background checks reasonable, I think not.

The "most popular" part of the defeated-but-sure-to-come back Senate gun control bill (background checks) sounds like a good idea at first but is more restrictive than anyone anticipated and will have significant unintended
consequences.

There is a huge push to get it through Congress before the public has a chance to consider its contents.

Common activities that we take for granted will become federal crimes.  These are not irresponsible exaggerations.  Please take a moment to review the requirements of the bill.

Here are a few examples of the restrictions in the bill:

EXAMPLE #1

Loaning your buddy a shotgun for a duck hunting trip will be considered a transfer.  If the following requirements are not met, YOU HAVE BOTH COMMITTED A FEDERAL CRIME.

1. He must have already purchased his hunting license

2. Season is already open (and will not close before he returns it)

3. He cannot travel with the firearm through a county where season is not yet open or any area where hunting is prohibited and certainly not across a state line.

He CANNOT stop by your house on the day before season opens, pick up the shot gun, go to the sporting goods store to buy a license and shells then drive out to the hunting lease.  In this scenario, YOU BOTH WOULD HAVE COMMITTED
MULTIPLE FEDERAL CRIMES, YOUR WEAPONS WILL BE FORFEITED AND YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR RIGHT TO BUY OR OWN A FIREARM.

EXAMPLE #2

It appears that only you may relocate your weapons.  If your weapon leaves your home without you, the new legislation considers it a transfer of possession.  ALL transfers require going through a firearms dealer, paying the
transfer fee and a background check for the transferee.

Putting the weapon, even temporarily in someone else's possession, requires a transfer through a dealer.  There is no exception for putting them in a friend's truck while moving to your new house or packing them unloaded,
locked in a gun safe into a moving truck.

Any scenario in which your weapon leaves your home without you is considered a transfer.  Failure to properly transfer the weapon is a federal crime which can result in a prison term AND WILL RESULT IN THE FORFEITURE OF YOUR
WEAPON.

In the scenario above, your buddy's truck was used to commit a federal crime and WILL BE CONFISCATED just like with current Fish and Game violations.

EXAMPLE #3

Infractions as above which involve 2 guns of any type are considered weapons trafficking.  You will be prosecuted under the same federal laws as a terrorist arms dealer.

EXAMPLE #4

Any of the infractions above (or hundreds of other routine scenarios) may result in federal charges, confiscation of ALL your weapons and being prohibited, like all felons, from ever owning a weapon again.

Please read the text of the bill yourself. Most of it is boring legalese but the sections on transfers and trafficking are critical.

Take a minute to think about all the routine activities like those above that will make you a federal criminal and result in prison time plus the confiscation of your weapons and other property.

Included below is Section 122 "Firearms Transfers".

SEC. 122. FIREARMS TRANSFERS.    (a) In General.--Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended--            (1) by repealing subsection (s);            (2) by redesignating subsection (t) as subsection (s);            (3) in subsection (s), as redesignated--                    (A) in paragraph (3)(C)(ii), by striking ``(as                 defined in subsection (s)(8))''; and                    (B) by adding at the end the following:            ``(7) In this subsection, the term `chief law enforcement         officer' means the chief of police, the sheriff, or an         equivalent officer or the designee of any such individual.'';         and            (4) by inserting after subsection (s), as redesignated, the         following:    ``(t)(1) Beginning on the date that is 180 days after the date of enactment of the Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013, it shall be unlawful for any person who is not licensed under this chapter to transfer a firearm to any other person who is not licensed under this chapter, unless a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer has first taken possession of the firearm for the purpose of complying with subsection (s). Upon taking possession of the firearm, the licensee shall comply with all requirements of this chapter as if the licensee were transferring the firearm from the licensee's inventory to the unlicensed transferee.    ``(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to--            ``(A) bona fide gifts between spouses, between parents and         their children, between siblings, or between grandparents and         their grandchildren;            ``(B) a transfer made from a decedent's estate, pursuant to         a legal will or the operation of law;            ``(C) a temporary transfer of possession that occurs         between an unlicensed transferor and an unlicensed transferee,         if--                    ``(i) the temporary transfer of possession occurs                 in the home or curtilage of the unlicensed transferor;                    ``(ii) the firearm is not removed from that home or                 curtilage during the temporary transfer; and                    ``(iii) the transfer has a duration of less than 7                 days; and            ``(D) a temporary transfer of possession without transfer         of title made in connection with lawful hunting or sporting         purposes if the transfer occurs--                    ``(i) at a shooting range located in or on premises                 owned or occupied by a duly incorporated organization                 organized for conservation purposes or to foster                 proficiency in firearms and the firearm is, at all                 times, kept within the premises of the shooting range;                    ``(ii) at a target firearm shooting competition                 under the auspices of or approved by a State agency or                 nonprofit organization and the firearm is, at all                 times, kept within the premises of the shooting                 competition; or                    ``(iii) while hunting or trapping, if--                            ``(I) the activity is legal in all places                         where the unlicensed transferee possesses the                         firearm;                            ``(II) the temporary transfer of possession                         occurs during the designated hunting season;                         and                            ``(III) the unlicensed transferee holds any                         required license or permit.    ``(3) For purposes of this subsection, the term `transfer'--            ``(A) shall include a sale, gift, loan, return from pawn or         consignment, or other disposition; and            ``(B) shall not include temporary possession of the firearm         for purposes of examination or evaluation by a prospective         transferee while in the presence of the prospective transferee.    ``(4)(A) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Attorney General may implement this subsection with regulations.    ``(B) Regulations promulgated under this paragraph--            ``(i) shall include a provision setting a maximum fee that         may be charged by licensees for services provided in accordance         with paragraph (1); and            ``(ii) shall include a provision requiring a record of         transaction of any transfer that occurred between an unlicensed         transferor and unlicensed transferee accordance with paragraph         (1).''.    (b) Technical and Conforming Amendments.--            (1) Section 922.--Section 922(y)(2) of title 18, United         States Code, is amended, in the matter preceding subparagraph         (A), by striking ``, (g)(5)(B), and (s)(3)(B)(v)(II)'' and         inserting ``and (g)(5)(B)''.            (2) Section 925a.--Section 925A of title 18, United States         Code, is amended, in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by         striking ``subsection (s) or (t) of section 922'' and inserting         ``section 922(s)''.            (3) NICS improvement amendments act.--Section 103(f) of the         NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007 is amended by striking         ``section 922(t)'' and inserting ``section 922(s)''.            (4) Consolidated and further continuing appropriations act,         2012.--Section 511 of title V of division B of the Consolidated         and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2012 (18 U.S.C. 922         note) is amended by striking ``subsection 922(t)'' and         inserting ``section 922(s)'' each place it appears.

Read it and call your congressman's office.  Talk to their staff.  Tell them how you feel about this.

Keep in mind, none of the above would have stopped the tragedy's in Columbine or Newtown.  The proposed law makes you a criminal and opens the door for confiscation of your weapons and property for otherwise routine activities.

Think and act.  Congress is hoping that you will do neither.

If you found the patience to read the entire text, you also learned that exactly $100 million per year of your tax money is set aside to enforce these restrictions.

(Well-meaning Chicago citizens carrying guns... and now Democratic officials are worried.  Its a start.  Better yet, bring the troops home from Afghanistan and send them into the ghetto and wipe out those black gangs... no jail time, wipe 'em out!)

CHICAGO (AP) — This city, where violent street gangs shoot it out dozens of times a week despite some of the nation's toughest restrictions on guns, now faces a new challenge: Well-meaning citizens with the legal right to hit the streets with loaded firearms, whenever they want.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FaTr5-B_Es&oref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7FaTr5-B_Es&has_verified=1

As Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn mulls whether to sign off on eliminating the country's last concealed carry ban, the question in Chicago is whether it will matter in the crime-weary city. Will a place that long had one of the tightest bans on handguns be more at risk? Or will it be safer with a law that can only add to the number of guns already on the street?

Neighborhood leaders, anti-crime activists and police officials worry about additional mayhem in Chicago. But other residents, including some who live in Chicago's more violent areas, believe more guns will allow them to defend themselves better.

"We just had a weekend where something like 48 people were shot, seven died," said Otis McDonald, 79, one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit that ended with the U.S. Supreme Court tossing out Chicago's strict gun ban three years ago. "Now law abiding citizens like myself ... can carry them when they want to and not carry them when they don't want to, and the people out there who will do us harm won't know when we got them and when we don't."

New Phone App Allows People to Pinpoint
Gunowners In Their Area

UCSD Lecturer Brett Stallbaum has released an Android app called Gun Geo Marker to allow people to 'Geolocate Dangerous Guns and Owners.'

According to Slashdot, the app description states: 'The Gun Geo Marker operates very simply, letting parents and community members mark, or geolocate, sites associated with potentially unsafe guns and gun owners.

Description
Geolocate Dangerous Guns and Owners with the Gun Geo Marker. Geolocation means marking dangerous sites on the App's map so that you and others can be aware of the risks in your neighborhood.

The Gun Geo Marker operates very simply, letting parents and community members mark, or geolocate, sites associated with potentially unsafe guns and gun owners. These locations are typically the homes or businesses of suspected unsafe gun owners, but might also be public lands or other locations where guns are not handled safely, or situations where proper rights to own or use any particular type of firearm may not exist. Electronically marking these locations can help others in the area learn about their geography of risk from gun accidents or violence. No matter what your safety concern with firearms might be, you should feel free to use this tool to provide the most accurate information you can such that others can make their own safety decisions.

As a crowd sourced information tool, the information about dangerous gun sites comes from users. Please follow us at http://www.gungeomarker.org, https://twitter.com/gungeomarker and https://www.facebook.com/GunGeoMarker.

Users gave the App a 1.2 average rating on on 1-5 point scale. They are not impressed.

White House cites progress on gun control
David Jackson, USA TODAY 6:50 a.m. EDT June 18, 2013

The White House says President Obama is close to completing a series of executive actions to address gun violence, but they are not a substitute for congressional legislation.

In a report issued Tuesday, the administration has "completed or made significant progress" on 21 of 23 executive actions that Obama outlined Jan. 16 as part of a major gun-control initiative.

"But Congress must also act," the report says. "Passing common-sense gun safety legislation, including expanding background checks and making gun trafficking a federal crime, remains the single most important step we could take to reduce gun violence."

With Obama in Northern Ireland for the G-8 summit, Vice President Biden will discuss the report in a speech Tuesday afternoon.

The Senate blocked a background check bill in April, thanks mostly to the votes of Republicans. Obama administration officials and Senate Democrats are trying to revive the bill by pressuring senators who voted against it to reconsider.

Gun-control opponents say the proposals are ineffective, and undermine the Second Amendment rights to gun ownership.

The Obama administration began pushing for new gun legislation after the Dec. 14 shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., that killed 20 students and six educators.

The new White House report listed the executive actions on guns taken by the administration.

Among them: Ending a freeze on federal research into the causes of gun violence, reducing barriers that prevent states from submitting certain records to the existing background check system, and easing the ways in which federal law enforcement agencies can trace guns recovered in investigations.

The report did not mention two other legislative proposals backed by gun-control supporters: A new ban on assault weapons, and restrictions on the size of ammunition magazines. Neither proposal has sufficient support in Congress as of yet.

The White House report says the president's executive actions are designed to address several goals, including improvements to the existing background check system, law enforcement, and school safety, as well as promote responsible gun ownership.

Then-Sen. Obama co-sponsored 'stand your ground' law in 2004 in Illinois

President Obama may currently be calling on the states to review their respective "stand your ground" gun laws, but he wasn't always so opposed to the right-to-carry rule.

In 2004, while a senator in Illinois, he co-sponsored legislation that allowed for the same rights.

Wicked Witch-of-West Nancy Pelosi Implores Congress to Uphold Constitution by — Wait for It — Violating It & Passing Harsher Gun Control Laws

No joke... Minority House Leader Nancy Pelosi wants Congress to uphold the Constitution by radically violating it.

These liberal Clowns will say ANYTHING to shove their anti-constitutional, anti-Second Amendment agenda down Americans' throats.

Democrat House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is the same loathsome piece of work who has denigrated civilized, law-abiding tea party members for daring to speak out and rally against the federal government's socialist, spendthrift agenda. Yet she and Pres. Obama embraced and applauded the revolting Occupy Wall Street thugs, rapists, vandals, public poopers, and other anarchists and self-entitled brats for opposing the federal government. This week, she helped save Team Obama's invasive NSA phone/Internet snooping program.

Now, Pelosi illogically, idiotically pleads in a press release this past week that Congress must defend and uphold the US Constitution by grossly violating the Second Amendment and passing more gun control laws.

From Ammoland, Pelosi Urges Congress to Uphold Constitution by Passing Gun Control:

Anti-gun U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently urged members of Congress  to uphold their oath to "protect and defend" the Constitution by passing harsher gun control laws.

Yes, Pelosi is proposing that Congress should support the Constitution by radically violating it.  Such is the deconstructionist mindset of modern-day gun-control advocates.

As reported by CNS News, Pelosi made the plea in a press release marking the one-year anniversary of the Aurora, Colorado shootings.

Said Pelosi:  "In Congress, there can be no more fitting memorial to the lives lost in Aurora, in Newtown, and across the country than a concerted effort to enact commonsense gun safety legislation.   We must uphold our oath to 'protect and defend' the constitution and all Americans by expanding background checks and keeping dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands."

As most Americans know, the Constitution was conceived and inherently designed to ensure that the government does NOT attempt to overpower the people with its own agenda or unduly restrict not only the Second Amendment, but any other of our precious, Constitutionally-guaranteed rights.

The CNS News article also noted that the phrase "to protect and defend the Constitution" that Pelosi cited as the reason Congress must enact stricter gun control laws is actually not found in the oath that members of Congress take, but is, instead, a part of the Presidential Oath of Office; a small but significant mistake on Pelosi's part.

From Daily Caller:
When Pelosi took her oath of office, she did so by saying: "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. [So help me God.]"

Clearly the Constitution and the Second Amendment need support and defense against Pelosi's illogical grandstanding and anti-gun agenda.

Arpaio Arms Deputies With AR-15 Style Rifles

By D.S. Woodfill

The Republic | azcentral.com

Thu Aug 8, 2013 10:35 PM

The Maricopa County, AZ. Sheriff's Office has issued semiautomatic AR-15-style rifles to each patrol deputy and implemented a policy requiring the deputies to carry a firearm at all times, even when off duty.

Hours after a Maricopa County jail worker was fatally shot in his front yard Thursday, Sheriff Joe Arpaio stood in front of hundreds of boxes with AR-15 assault rifles for his deputies.

Several rifles, bought with about $500,000 seized under federal RICO laws, were arranged in front of Arpaio's lectern at a news conference he planned the day before Jorge Vargas was shot outside his West Valley home.

Vargas, 27, who was heading to work, was shot at about 4:30a.m. while starting his truck. Phoenix police are handling the investigation, and Arpaio said very little about the investigation.

"It's very sad what happened," Arpaio said. "This unfortunate situation that occurred dovetails somewhat into ... issuing my officers these semiautomatic AR-15 assault rifles."

Arpaio said the rifles will protect deputies when they face suspects with equal firepower. He said one advantage the rifle has over a handgun is that the AR-15 can fire more rounds than a handgun before requiring reloading.

Many police departments in the Valley equip at least some of their officers with AR-15 rifles, including agencies in Tempe, Peoria and Mesa.

Tempe Police Department spokesman Mike Pooley said the rifles are a must as officers encounter criminals armed with assault rifles. He said the infamous 1997 shootout between armed bank robbers in Hollywood and the Los Angeles Police Department was what prompted most departments to purchase assault rifles.

"They (the LAPD) didn't have rifles," he said. "In fact they had to go to a local gun store. They were outgunned."

Pooley said the AR-15 are superior to handguns because they are more accurate at long distances and will pierce most body armor. He said the shooters in Hollywood had body armor and police bullets were bouncing off them.

CNN Reports: Gun Sales Surge In Newtown After Shooting

CNN's Poppy Harlow traveled to Newtown, Connecticut this week to report on the increase in gun sales that community has seen since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School last December. According to the report, Newtown is set to issue double the amount of pistol permits this year as it did in 2012.
