Charlene Eva Johnson, age 78, of Severy, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Eureka Nursing Care Facility in Eureka, Kansas.  Charlene was born on September 1, 1934 in Berryville, Arkansas, the daughter of Newell Frankling Snow and Jesse Myrtle (Holland) Snow.

Charlene worked for Continental Airlines in both Kansas City, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois.  After moving to Severy, she worked in the family business as a cashier and clerk for Johnson Brothers Auctioneers and waitressed in local restaurants.  She had several hobbies including bowling, Bingo, painting, sewing, and crafts.

Charlene is survived by her sons, Roger Johnson of El Dorado, Kansas and Alan Johnson of Eureka, Kansas; her daughter, Sharon Garbacz of Homer Glen, Illinois; her brother, Vern Snow of Marysville, Kansas; her sister, Lillian Taylor of Stover, Missouri; and eight grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Vivian Burton.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating.  The family has suggested memorials to the Eureka Nursing Center, the they may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, P.O.
