HOWARD-  Esther M. Morgan, 97, homemaker, died July 6, 1998, at Howard Twilight Manor.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday in Grace Lawn Cemetery.  The Rev. Robin Haines will officiate.

A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.  Contributions can be left at Zimmerman Funeral Home.

Morgan was born May 1, 1901, in Altamont, Ill., to Alfred Franklin and Lillian (Saunders) Wucherpfening. She attended school in Illinois until moving with her family to Parsons during her early teen years.

On Aug. 23, 1925, she married Wilbert Walter Morgan at Topeka, and they farmed northeast of HOward.  Her husband died Dec. 1, 1989.

Morgan was a longtime member of the Antioch Church.   After that church closed, she transferred her membership to the Howard United Methodist church.  She was active in the Ladies Aid Society for many years.

Survivors include her three sons, Robert Morgan and Francis Morgan, both of Howard, and Donald Morgan, Arma, two grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
