...I Just LOVE What My Gun Protects...

Written by Tim Schmidt

I guess that headline isn't 100 percent true, because I really do love guns. The point I'm trying to make here is that many people forget that the firearm is only a tool. It's simply a means to an end. I carry a gun because it's one of the most effective tools that I'm aware of for self-defense.

I carry a gun because I've made the personal decision that the person who is 100 percent responsible for the safety of my loved ones is named Tim Schmidt. I carry a gun because I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I was ever in a situation where I couldn't protect my wife and kids. I carry a gun because it is one of the many personal protection layers that I've created for myself. I carry a gun because while I expect and hope for good and perfect outcomes, I understand that evil will always exist in our world. I carry a gun because my daughter and my wife each believe that no matter what happens, her daddy and her husband will always be able to protect her. I carry a gun because I want to teach my kids that it will someday be their responsibility to protect their loved ones. I carry a gun because I LOVE life. I carry a gun because I am a responsibly armed citizen.

The people have an inherant right to bear arms for the protection of our constitution as well as ourselves.  The safety of our God given rights depend on an armed citizenry to defend against tyriny, mostly from within.  The type of tyriny being waged against our constitutional republic and its etched in stone documents by the founding fathers.

Instead of gun control waged against the people, it should be a requirement of all citizens to be armed.  Freedom is only free as long as diligent people pay the price for it.  If we all rest, we will lose all our freedoms.

Obuma hates our government process and is slowly turning America into a socialist country, if not totally into communism.  The people most awake to the danger of what is happening in America are the people that came here recently from eastern Euroean countries.  They have lived the experience of totalatarianism and scream warnings against going down that path.

My apology to both Warph and Diane if you are offended by this comment. Dang Warph, inherant, tyriny, euroean, totalatarinism. I don't think I have ever seen you misspell anything. Diane, could you please correct Warph's paper? Slappy, cut Warph off and send him home. I do love guns, even if I may or may not have guns in my home or not in my home or may be opposed to them. Since the government is monitoring us through carnivore that is my story and I am sticking to it.

It's the Republicans who were 'slowly' turning America into a socialsit country.
Obama is ahead of the Republicans on that.  America is socialist.

The Republicans want to catch up with their plan and a man for 2016.

Warph, I guess it was on the bilnk.

Bullwinkle, my grammatical errors were purposeful. I only pointed out Warph's spelling errors because I don't remember ever seeing them in any of Warph's previous post. What I will tell you is that when I take any of the political discussions on here seriously Warph is my go to guy. Also, Warph is one of the best poster's of humor but I think Larry J is a close second and gaining.

The NRA has been saying all along that Barack Obama would unleash an assault on our Second Amendment freedoms if he won a second term. It sure didn't take long for him to prove us right.

Just hours after Obama won re-election last Tuesday, his administration endorsed a new effort by the global gun grabbers at the United Nations to draft a gun ban treaty early next year. The official starting point for the new talks is last year's failed draft, which contains provisions that threaten our sovereign right to keep and bear arms through an international gun registration scheme.

And not long after Obama floated the idea of banning semi-automatic firearms, we learned that California Senator Dianne Feinstein was working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to draft new legislation that would ban semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and handguns, so-called "high capacity" magazines, and rifles and shotguns with pistol grips. Reportedly, Feinstein wants to make it illegal not just to sell your guns and magazines, but to leave them behind in your will.

Not surprisingly, the lights had hardly gone out at Obama's victory celebration last week when gun-hating New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, along with his pollster, Frank Luntz, were conducting push polls to promote government control over every firearm transfer — including between fathers and sons, and grandfathers and grandsons.

In Bloomberg's world, a child wouldn't be able to tear the wrapping paper off his first .22 rifle on Christmas morning unless Santa Claus had first cleared it with Obama's bureaucrats.

I know a lot of folks are still down about last week's presidential election. It's puzzling how so many Americans can tell pollsters that the country is on the wrong track, then vote to keep the same guy driving the train.

But this isn't the first time in history when gun owners and NRA members have faced a difficult challenge, and it won't be the first time we've risen to the occasion and come out victorious. The Second Amendment wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for the courage of tens of millions of gun owners and freedom-loving Americans across our nation, and throughout our history.

As long as dedicated patriots continue to band together and fight as though freedom itself is on the line — because it is — we will defend the Second Amendment in Obama's second term and save it for generations to come.

For gun owners, the next four years won't just be the fight of our lives, it will be a fight for the future of our nation. We're ready to lead the charge.

-Obama Voters No Longer Allowed at Pinetop Gun Store -- "Effective Immediately"

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2012/11/obama-voter_ban_at_gun_store_i.php

An Arizona gun store has a simple message for Barack Obama voters: you're not welcome here.

The Southwest Shooting Authority in Pinetop, Ariz. posted a sign on its door and took out a newspaper ad declaring that if you voted for the president last week, you're not allowed in.

"If you voted for Obama, please turn around and leave! You have proven that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm!" the sign states.

I catch spelling errors on WARPH once in awhile, but he doesn't usually pick on me, so I leave his alone most of the time. There were quite a few in that one post though.
We did just have a sad event here last week. A UD student living in off campus housing apparently saw something he shouldn't have as he walked down the sidewalk by his apartment building, just after dark. Shot dead quick as a flash. If he'd had a gun in his hand, it couldn't have saved him, he was killed so fast.. chest shot at close range, dropped like a stone... happened just two blocks from one of our fire stations.

Our world is a sad and scary place sometimes..
Poor kid probably had no idea what even happened...

And the reality is.. in many scenarios, unless you are trained.. and I mean really trained, to know how to react and control the adrenaline and can act and react in those types of situations.. armed or unarmed you probably will be on the losing end..
Sometimes it just is in your face and happens in a split second..

Sadness.. :'(
