Marcia, at the time of the movie, Knight's Lumber was Riggin's Hardware.  You are right about the barber shop.  A little niggle in the back of my mind was telling me that Slim's shop was on the east side of the street, but I didn't remember that it was Cecil that had his shop next to the grocery.  My husband patronized both of them.  That is, Slim, until he left, then Cecil until we moved away.
