House votes to delay bulk ammunition purchase by DHS

The House late Wednesday voted to stop the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from entering into new contracts to buy millions of rounds of ammunition until the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports to Congress on the need for the ammo, and its cost.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) proposed an amendment to the DHS spending bill for 2014 that would require the report to Congress before it can pursue plans to buy 1.1 billion rounds of ammunition. Meadows said the speed bump is a necessary reaction to news of the huge purchase, which alarmed many Americans and prompted conservative groups to suspect that the government was stocking up on the rounds to fight citizens.

"Given this large purchase, the American people and members of Congress rightfully had concerns and questions," Meadows said. "This is a responsible amendment which ensures that Congress and the American people are aware of the necessity and the cost of ammunition prior to entering into new contracts for procurement."

Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) said the amendment was unnecessary based on his talks with DHS officials. Carter said the department has since admitted that its ammunition needs are not as great as first reported, and said the department is pursuing a bulk purchase to keep the costs down...

Listening to Matthews talk about Obuma sounds more like teenage apologetics of Justin Bieber than sound political analysis . Look, I get standing by your man in his time of hardship, and I suppose in a perverted way, props to him for this adulatory display of loyalty.  But really, no.  First of all, this is a guy (Obuma) who admitted himself, "Yeah, I dabbled in blow."  (Cocaine, for those less streetwise among us) Which is.... you know... "Illegal."  Currently, his administration is battling scandals on more fronts that WWI had.  Benghazi, hacking journalists, IRS targeting, PRISM... the ethics are dubious and questionable at best.

Democrat Congressman Hits Obuma For Being An Inexperienced Neophyte

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest serving lawmaker in Congress, criticized President Obama as inexperienced on Thursday, saying he arrived in town with the "smallest Rolodex ever."

"I think he had the smallest Rolodex ever when he hit town," Dingell said on MSNBC's Daily Rundown. "And he moved so fast he never had any chance to build scar tissue, to learn politics, to be hurt. Because you got to be hurt in this business, so that you'll toughen and so that you'll learn."

Obama lost his bid for a U.S. House seat in 2000, but was elected to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate in late 2004. In 2008 he defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, and won the presidency later that year.

"He's had to kind of fight his way up fast without the experience," Dingell continued. "I don't think that he's had the kind of eclectic advisers that Truman had or that Roosevelt had or that Johnson had, and I don't think he's had the experience that those people had."

A poll conducted by the research bureau of Maurice de Hond (the Dutch equivalent of Gallup), commissioned by the PVV, among a representative sample of over 1,900 people also shows other striking results:

A majority of 55 percent favors stopping immigration from Islamic countries.

63 percent say: no new mosques.

72 percent favor a constitutional ban on Sharia law in the Netherlands.

64 percent say that the arrival of immigrants from Islamic countries has not been beneficial to the Netherlands.

Nearly three-quarters – 73 percent – of all Dutch see a relationship between Islam and the recent terror acts in Boston, London and Paris.

Clown Obama Waives Human Rights Requirement On $1.3 Billion In Aid To
Muslim Brotherhood Regime In Egypt On National Security Grounds

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration has waived the conditional human rights string attached to Egypt's $1.3 billion in U.S. military support for 2013.

In a letter to Congress last month, Secretary of State John Kerry noted the Egyptian military's long partnership in promoting Mideast peace. He said aid helps protect Egypt's borders, Suez Canal shipping and Israeli security against extremists in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula.

After Hosni Mubarak's overthrow in 2011, Congress mandated that assistance to Egypt be conditional on progress in on a democratic transition there. However, it allowed the administration to waive the requirement on national security grounds.


(Congress cannot directly vote to override an executive order in the way they can a veto.  Instead, Congress must pass a bill canceling or changing the order in a manner they see fit.  The president will typically veto that bill, and then Congress can try to override the veto of that second bill... this is called the 'merry-go-round affect.'  The Supreme Court can also declare an executive order to be unconstitutional.  Congressional cancellation by SCOTUS of a EX Order is extremely rare.... don't count on it with this gang of nine. So... you might say Obuma and his minionswho  are in complience are still waging Jihad from the White House.  ....Warph)

(Reuters) – Secretary of State John Kerry quietly acted last month to give Egypt $1.3 billion in U.S. military aid, deciding that this was in the national interest despite Egypt's failure to meet democracy standards.

Kerry made the decision well before an Egyptian court this week convicted 43 democracy workers, including 16 Americans, in what the United States regards as a politically motivated case against pro-democracy non-governmental organizations.

Rights groups believe Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi is retreating from democratic freedoms, notably in a new civil society law and in proposals for judicial reform that critics see as a way to purge judges perceived as hostile to the government.

Despite stating in a May 9 memo that "we are not satisfied with the extent of Egypt's progress and are pressing for a more inclusive democratic process and the strengthening of key democratic institutions," Kerry said the aid should go forward.

Under U.S. law, for the $1.3 billion to flow the secretary of state must certify that the Egyptian government "is supporting the transition to civilian government, including holding free and fair elections, implementing policies to protect freedom of expression, association and religion, and due process of law."
